Frequently asked questions:

I don't live in Minnesota or South Carolina or even close, but would like to try CE
IICE can still help you to find a  way so your child can participate in Conductive Education. We can provide you with a Conductor, run a 4-6 week program or find an existing Learning Center in your area. Please contact us for details.

Is there an age limit for the children?
Normally we work children from few months to 16 years old. Please note that CE is the most effective in the early years, older students usually attended CE for years already.

My child has a different type of disability...
Conductive Education is working with some other disabilities similar to CP as well. Eligibility is based on the assessment, however there are cases when CE is not suitable: down syndrome, autism, significant behavior problems etc. Please see our Conductor.

What about insurance coverage?
Though having your insurance cover the expenses of Conductive Education would be really important, it's not an easy thing to achieve. Centers all over the country have been working on this for years without any significant breakthroughs. Insurance companies already decreased the therapy time for children per month, so you can't count on them when it comes to CE.

What other sources are available?
Every state is a different. In Minnesota there is a so called Waiver System, which means that the state helps with some expenses not covered by insurance. Pure Conductive Education usually falls in the accepted categories. We strongly recommend you to talk with your Social Worker, and check out the links belonging to this subject. It's also good if your child has a scholarship, and fundraising is one of the best ways to go

I'm coming from out of state, is there any way I can participate in the program?
Families coming from longer distance are always welcomed. At this moment if you do so, you have to find a place to stay, and we can schedule a short period (few weeks) intense program for you, like our Summer Camps.
